Michael Pozzan Sonoma Revere Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma Valley, 2022
The Sonoma Revere Cabernet Sauvignon is a wine crafted by Michael Pozzan Winery as an homage to Lt. Joseph Warren Revere, grandson of Paul Revere, and his role in the Bear Flag Revolt in Sonoma. The wine celebrates Sonoma’s rich history, particularly the event where Lt. Revere replaced the California Republic’s Bear Flag with the American flag at the Sonoma Barracks in 1846. This act symbolized the end of Mexican control and the eventual incorporation of California into the United States.Â
It is a new label that aims to capture the spirit of this historical moment through its bright fruit and impressive finish that not only offers a taste of Sonoma but also tells a story of American history and the role Sonoma played in it. This wine is rich with bright and expressive aromas of blackberry, boysenberry, and a hint of vanilla. The wineâs well-structured tannins build a perfect frame for ample aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and espresso, while lovely volatile notes of barrel spices – like cardamom and vanilla – linger throughout the finish.
Perfect with a classic beefy steakhouse meal like a tomahawk with garlicky greens and potatoes, or home-cooked braised short ribs.Â
Windy Trail Vineyards Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley, 2022
Winemakers Jim and Judy Schultze are escapees from the high-tech world who have used their twenty years of interest and experience in artisan winemaking and winegrowing to create Windy Oaks Estate. The Burgundian varietals, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, are produced from a 15-acre vineyard located at 1,000 feet on a ridge overlooking the town of Corralitos and the Monterey Bay beyond. The grapes are also sourced from an adjacent 7 acres and a 4-acre vineyard in Aptos.
You can taste the cool climate fruit right out of the gate with its ripe red cherry, blackberry and plum flavors perfectly balanced by fresh subtle acidity.Â

Michael Pozzan Sonoma Revere Chardonnay, Sonoma Valley, 2022
The Sonoma Revere Chardonnay is the partner to the Cabernet Sauvignon, following the same story and inspiration. In essence, this line of wines, including the Chardonnay, reflects the winery’s appreciation for Sonoma’s rich history and its passion for producing quality wines that capture the spirit of the region.Â
This wine is expressively fruit driven, with compelling aromas of mango, clementine, and pineapple, with hints of toasted marshmallow. In the mouth, the wine is creamy and with bright acid, showing flavors of apricot, creme brûlée, and cinnamon lingering throughout the finish.
Enjoy this extroverted Chardonnay with a roasted chicken served over a butter lettuce salad with shaved Manchego cheese and toasted pumpkin seeds.
Oregon Route Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley, 2023
Oregon Route Vineyards is a brand well known for its Pinot Noir wines, specifically within the Willamette Valley, a premier wine region in Oregon. The winery mainly focuses on producing high-quality Pinot Noir, however, this Pinot Gris is a fun and vibrant new step for Oregon Route.Â
This wine is a light, fruit-forward expression thatâs perfect for easy sipping. Bursting with notes of crisp pear, apple, and a hint of citrus, itâs not overly complex, but thatâs part of its charm. Clean, refreshing, and approachable, this is a great go to white for casual gatherings, light meals, or just relaxing on a warm day. An uncomplicated, enjoyable wine that shows off the bright, fresh side of Oregon Pinot Gris.
Pairs perfectly with fresh seafood, especially mussels, oysters, and other shellfish.Â
